Adult Guardianship Services of Summit County is the court-appointed advocate for adults who can no longer make their own decisions and have no family able to step in. In Summit County, the Probate Court is responsible for nearly 2,500 adults under guardianship. Many are indigent. Many live in nursing homes, assisted living, or group homes. When there is no willing family member, AGS is appointed to protect their safety, their care, and their rights.
