Empowering our community with valuable resources and ongoing education.
We believe that knowledge is power, and are dedicated to providing our volunteers and the community with an abundance of resources to support their important role as guardians. We offer comprehensive and ongoing education opportunities that are designed to enhance your skills, expand your knowledge, and empower you to serve our community with confidence. Join us as we embark on a journey of continuous learning and personal growth.
Education for All Guardians:
AGS is committed to serving our guardians and supporting them in their service to the community. We collaborate with our community partners to identify and address current educational needs, providing approved curriculum for continuing education. Moreover, many of our shared programs offer professional Continuing Education credits for nurses, social workers, and attorneys.
Guardian Initial Training Requirements:
As a volunteer guardian with AGS, you will be required to complete the Fundamentals of Adult Guardianship training within 90 days of joining our organization. This comprehensive six hour on line course offers a thorough education on the nature of guardianship and equips you with a deep understanding of your responsibilities as a guardian. We understand the value of flexibility, so the training program is offered online, allowing you to work at your own pace without the pressure of an exam. Best of all, this training is provided at no cost to you.
Ongoing Education Opportunities:
Our commitment to your growth and development as a guardian goes beyond the initial training. These programs cover various topics relevant to guardianship and are designed to further enhance your knowledge and skills. Whether you're interested in legal updates, ethical considerations, or specialized care practices, our educational offerings aim to provide you with the latest insights and best practices. By participating in these programs, you can continue to expand your expertise and stay up-to-date with the evolving landscape of adult guardianship.
Education For the Community
AGS professional guardians can be found at numerous events throughout the year speaking about guardianship, sharing resources, and participating in community activities. We're eager for everyone to know and understand how guardianship improves the lives of those who are in need - and those who volunteer. If you're interested in having an AGS speaker at your next event, please contact Carla Bayonnet at cbayonnet@adultguardianship.org.
