At Adult Guardianship Services of Summit County (AGS), we believe that caring for the most vulnerable members of our community is a responsibility that requires collaboration, commitment, and a deep sense of compassion.

It’s with immense gratitude that we recognize Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro’s Department of Job and Family Services (JFS).

When AGS was founded, we knew that ensuring the well-being of those under guardianship would require a network of dedicated partners. JFS was among the first to recognize the importance of our work, providing unwavering support as we navigated the complex challenges of serving indigent individuals, seniors, those with severe and persistent mental illness and adults with disabilities. Their willingness to collaborate and share resources has played a crucial role in helping us establish a sustainable and effective guardianship program.

Through the years, we have relied on JFS to help navigate the evolving landscape of social services. Their dedication to protecting our vulnerable adults aligns seamlessly with our mission, making our partnership one of shared purpose and mutual respect. We have seen firsthand how their involvement changes lives—how a well-coordinated effort between agencies leads to real, measurable outcomes for those who need it most.

JFS has also been instrumental in helping us grow as an organization. Through their guidance and collaborative efforts, we have strengthened our ability to respond to the increasing demand for guardianship services. The impact of their support can be seen in the countless individuals who have been protected and empowered through our joint efforts.

As we look to the future, AGS remains deeply grateful for the ongoing partnership with JFS. We know that the challenges ahead will require even more cooperation, innovation, and dedication. But with JFS by our side, we are confident that we can continue to provide the highest level of care and advocacy for those who depend on us.

In Summit County, we are truly fortunate to have agencies like JFS and leaders like Ilene Shapiro that understand the value of community and collaboration. Together, we have built more than a safety net—we have built a village of support, advocacy, and hope.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro’s Department of Job and Family Services for their commitment, their compassion, and their unwavering belief in the importance of protecting our most vulnerable neighbors.

We look forward to continuing this journey together, making a lasting difference in the lives of those we serve.
